Creative Activity for Kids in Charlotte!

Updated: Jul 11, 2022

Creative Activity for Kids

Crayola IDEAworksⓇ aims to stimulate kids’ creative impulses in fun and engaging ways. Activities in the exhibition include problem solving tasks and design challenges that give kids real-world experience with applying their creativity. Coming to North Carolina in Spring 2022, this one-of-a-kind experience is a perfect creative activity for kids in Charlotte. “We want to empower kids so that they can make a positive impact on the world,” Agency808 founder Clayton Ferguson said. “By the end of the experience, the goal is for kids to feel like they have the creative tools to make a difference.”

Imagination and Design

Creative Activity for Kids

IDEAworks challenges kids to use their imagination to create something tangible. In the ColorverseTM, kids will design an efficient and eco-friendly city and make their own piece of (digital) brightly-colored clothing. In the IDEA Workshop, participants develop a product pitch and design a personalized garden. Overall, the goal of IDEAworks is simply to help kids discover what’s already inside them. As Ferguson noted, “The stars of the exhibition are the kids themselves!”

Problem Solving and Building

Creative Activity for Kids

The exhibition further empowers kids through creativity by showing them they are capable of solving complex problems. The Colorverse helps participants learn how to restore a coral reef by teaching them how to attract fish with certain tones. In the IDEA Workshop, the exhibition allows you to create your own structure out of foam noodles – an activity where the possibilities are limitless – and later shows you how to differentiate between fact, fiction, and opinion. Kids will certainly learn valuable skills from IDEAworks. But unlike in school, they will have fun doing it! The applicable nature of these exciting activities means everyone who participates in IDEAworks will feel empowered to utilize their creativity in real life.

No Wrong Answers!

Creativity isn’t one-size-fits-all. Every kid (and human) has their own unique way of designing, building, problem-solving, and imagining– and that’s okay! Ferguson explained that the exhibit was designed with this idea in mind. “There's no wrong answers with creativity, so we're able to walk through and find out what really works for individuals," he said. When looking for a creative activity for kids in Fort Lauderdale, look no further than Crayola IDEAworksⓇ!
